Santa Fe Stone Creations Crafting Nature's Art in Semi-Precious Stone
Works in Progress
Semi precious stone art work in progress using tigerseye and rock crystal by Santa Fe Stone Creations
Currently I am working on a basin and water feature that I have named "Eye of the Tiger". It features Tiger's Eye against black onyx in concentric bands. The water feature will be formed from 3 geode halfs which I have found to make a very good water fountain. Tiger's Eye has a silky, lustrous appearance that is very chatoyant. It is a metamorphic rock composed of intergrown parallel quartz crystals and altered amphibole fibres that have turned into limonite. The quartz geodes I have chosen are also stained with limonite. The pictures, clockwise from upper left, display the initial rough material, the completed basin base, the current progress on the basin at a recent art show and how I will create the geode fountain.
